James Eugene Holmes

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Mable Jones Holmes; his father, James Ward Holmes; and a son, Scott Holmes. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Brenda Head Holmes; son, Jeff Harris (Kathy); son, Jay Holmes; two grandsons, Jonathan Harris and Jordan Harris; four nephews, Kelly Holmes, Andy Holmes, Robby Head, and Micah Head, and many friends.

Jim attended the University of Alabama on a track scolarship. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching Alabama football, basketball, and softball. He had a long career with Marketing Specialist where he was a sales representative and later promoted to a sales manager over several states and retired after 35 years of service in 1997. He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

A graveside service for James will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Moncrief Cemetery, 2055 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, AL 35071.
