James “Jim” Thornton Murphy, age 50 of Fultondale, Alabama passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Jim was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Jerry T. Murphy and a sister, Cynthia Ann Franklin. He is survived by his parents, Rebecca and Cecil A. Franklin of Gardendale, Alabama; a brother, Patrick W. Franklin and his wife, Lake Franklin; grandmother, Clara Edwards; nephew, Asher Franklin; and a niece, Nora Franklin.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:30 until 8 PM with chapel funeral services on Wednesday beginning at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
