Mrs. Jeanette Duncan Myrick, age 88, of Gardendale, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Born on March 10, 1938, in Norton, Virginia, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful member of her community.
Mrs. Myrick was raised in North Birmingham, where she attended Fairmont Elementary School, Phillips High School and Southeastern Business College. During her working years, she was employed at NAPA Auto Parts and later retired as a rural mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. She was also a charter member of East Gardendale Baptist Church, where her faith remained an important part of her life.
She will be remembered for her strength, steadfast spirit, and deep love for her family. Those who knew her appreciated her warmth, her resilience, and her wit, and the example she set by treating others with kindness, dignity, and respect. Her life was a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Myrick. Father, William Lamar Duncan and Mother Ruth Virginia Smith Duncan. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lamar Myrick (Pam), Jan Hogan (Alan), and Roger Myrick (Belinda); her grandchildren, Tiffany Myrick, Tabitha Myrick; Chris Niblett, Adam Myrick, Caleb Myrick and Olivia Hogan along with extended family members and many dear friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrick will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at East Gardendale Baptist Church, 360 Tarrant Road, Gardendale, Al 35071. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. A graveside service will follow for immediate family.
Mrs. Myrick’s memory will be treasured always by those who loved her, and her legacy of faith, perseverance, and love will continue to live in the hearts of her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request a donation to East Gardendale Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at East Gardendale Baptist Church, 360 Tarrant Rd, Gardendale, AL 35071, US, on May 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Funeral Service will follow at East Gardendale Baptist Church, 360 Tarrant Rd, Gardendale, AL 35071, US, on May 23, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
