Jimmy was born January 27, 1948 to Henry and Mae Helms Simpson. He attended Phillips High School.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Sharron Elizabeth Handley Simpson and daughter, Sandra Anita.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Kathryn Gray Simpson; two sons, James Kelly (Tracy) Simpson and Darrell Neal Simpson; setp-daughter, Christy Carver and a number of grandchildren and their spouses and several great grandchildren along with a host of friends and a son-in-law, Rod.
Thank you my angel for the last 12 years i got to spend with you. I will miss you terribly, Your loving wife, Kathryn.
A visitation for Jimmy will be held Monday, February 24, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Rd, Gardendale, AL 35071.
