Joann Prettyman

She was born in Lorena, Mississippi to the late Algerhee Lyles Stewart and Sylvester Stewart. Joann loved to travel, go on cruises, go to the beach (Panama City), and the mountains (Gatlinburg). She loved baking, sewing, doing crafts, playing cards. and putting puzzles together.

She was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church.She loved collecting angels, cardinals, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved her New Orleans Saints Football! WHODAT!

She was preceded in death by her husband, SMSGT Dennis Lee Prettyman, her parents, several brothers and sisters, and son-in-law Scott Abel. She is survived by her children, Sandra Abel Robertson (Nate), Lisa Kendrick (Gary), Jeffrey Ballard, Steven Beaugez (Kelli), and daughter-in-law Holly Ballard. Lisa & Pete Pope, special niece and nephew. Daughter-in-love, Debbie Caporaletti. Grandchildren: Derek Hyles, Victoria Ballard, Ethan Beaugez, Brandyn Abel, Lillian Beaugez, Jenny Saucier (Robyn), Jessie Shindlebower (Tyler), Brandi Robertson, Tyler & Dallas Caporaletti, Nate Roberts (Anna), and Shelby Crawford (Eric). Honorary Grandchildren: Isabella Migues, Madison Hunt, and Cody Bell. Great Grandchildren: Ria Hyles, Waylon Blake, Madilyn & Tilly Roberts, James Saucier, Garrett & Nolan Shindlebower, Bella Lee, Chase & Dalton Lesueur, Noah, Cremson & Laya Crawford. Sisters: Peggy Thomas (Dennis) and Lucy Fruge (Herman). Dear friends/family: Walt & Tilly Robertson, Pat & Andy South, Rick & Kathleen Kirpatrick, and Dewayne Cooper. Many dear nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer a very heartfelt thank you to AGC (Hope) Hospice Care, Jernigan's Healthcare, and Alabama Oncology for all of the love, care, and support they have provided to her and her family. A private family burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date where she will be buried alongside her husband.
