John Edward Massey

4/29/1942 - 1/19/2025

Eddie Massey, age 82, of Fultondale, Alabama passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Eddie was a long time member of Walker's Chapel Baptist Church and in recent years a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church.

Mr. Massey served in the United States Coast Guard and was a founding member of the Birmingham Street Road Association. He had many hobbies including bowling, golf, ceramics, Alabama football and enjoyed CARS.

Eddie was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hattie Massey, parents, Dasel and Mary Massey his wife, Diane G. Massey.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Patsy Barnhill Massey; daughter, Jennifer Attaway (Matt); grandson, Jackson Attaway; granddaughter, Charla Grace Attaway; stepsons, David Barnhill (Julianne), Bill Barnhill (Tammy); stepdaughter, Angela Goodyear, and a host of step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Morris; nephew, Thorton Morris (Ann); nieces, Rachel and Emily Morris.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Eddie's honor.

Services for Eddie will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, Gardendale, Alabama, with a time of visitation to begin at 10:00 AM; Funeral service at 11:00 Am, followed by his burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, Alabama.
