Joseph "Joe" JB Alexander

Joseph JB “Joe” Alexander, age 78 of Fultondale, AL passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018. He was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. JB and his wife Betty were members of New Hope Ministries for over 18 years. He always put the needs of his family and others before his own. JB loved hard work and operating his heavy equipment. He worked in the excavating business for over 50 years and was owner of A&A Excavating Company since 1984. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sim and Gracie Alexander; his daughter-in-law, Debbie Goodwin Alexander; a brother, Vernon “Bud” Alexander; sisters, Stella Overton, Zettia Waid, Willodene Lawter, Dera Alexander, and Crystle Shirley. JB is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Betty Alexander; sons, Kenneth Alexander (Shelly) and Keith Alexander (Terri); his daughters, Karen Taylor (Shane) and Kathy McDermott (Mike); brothers, Roy Alexander and Jerry Alexander; sisters, Ilene Watts, Dean McGill, Becky Harris (Wayne), Gurvis Brashier, Gladys Black (Glenn), and Virginia Beasley (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Chad Alexander, Brad Alexander, Blake McDermott (Shannah), Kyle Alexander (Laura), Paige Myrick (Donald), Amber O’Donnell (Jacob), Stacie McGruder (Robert), Hailey Morgan , Jordan Taylor (Devon), Alyssa Taylor, and Johnathan Alexander; 12 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, July 24th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 5 to 8 PM. Chapel services will follow on Wednesday beginning at 11 AM and burial in Walkers Chapel Cemetery in Fultondale.
