that nana was so nice .  we had fun going to nukes and going to the lake. i miss her so much.

I am Joy's oldest daughter so I can say that I've had both good, bad and funny memories of my momma in 53 years.  As children, my sister Karin Thomas and I, would get in trouble from time to time. On one occasion my Dad thought that my Mamma should be the one to discipline us. I had to go out to pick the "switch" to be used for said discipline (I'm sure people from our generation and earlier can remember those times.) We went to my sister's bedroom, shut the door and waited. When she came in with my switch, she started crying.  She couldn't do it. We had to  "fake" a "whooping", sorry dad.  I don't even remember the reason for the "whooping" that didn't really happen. I do remember that I never wanted to see that look on her face again. So being the oldest, I tried to keep us both in line for a little while.
Momma was the type of person that "lit up a room" when she attended functions either family, work or friend oriented. She was always a beautiful woman but it was more than that. People always seemed drawn to her kindness and positive attitude.  I don't know anyone that's ever said a  negative thing about her. 
 She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren so much. I'm sure my  sister would agree that I think she cherished them even more than us.
Momma was saved, she was a Christian woman. I have been a "lukewarm" Christian. I have been on journey back to Christ for about a year. Early Sunday morning, she woke up and we talked for a minute. I asked her if anyone had been to pray with her and if she wanted to pray. She said yes,  please. Her mouth was moving but no sounds were coming out, tears were streaming down her cheeks. I laid beside her and told her to repeat after me. I cannot remember the words that came out but we prayed together. I felt a peaceful presence that was beautiful and supernatural. I felt like the Holy Spirit was speaking through me. That's never happened to me before and why now but I know where mom's soul is without a doubt.
