He was proud to be a Veteran. He served in the US Army as a MP as well as a mechanic. He served overseas in Kaiserslautern, Germany wearing the shoulder sleeve insignia of the 3rd Armored Division.
After serving his country, He was also a truck driver for over 50 years. Most of his driving career was as a long haul, over the road trucker, with his services providing for the needs of others. He was awarded numerous times for his service and also for his driving safely, receiving numerous safety awards. He was most proud of his numerous times being awarded for his over a million accident or incident free miles driven. He loved to "tinker around" with his projects and spending time with his girls and his grandchildren. He was a grill master and "concoction cooker". He loved fishing with his grands and just being outside in general. He also had a knack for trying to save vehicles that were beyond repair, but he kept on trying, never giving up. That was just him, he never gave up on anyone or anything. He spoke his mind, sometimes not always with what you wanted to hear, but was a straight shooter. He loved to be the jokester, but had the biggest heart and would give you anything he had.
He is preceded in death by his Mother, Ann Adams Elliott and his Father Roy Elliott Jr.
He is survived by his only brother, Michael Wayne Elliott, his wife of 50 Precious years, Deborah Morrison Elliott, Two daughters Ann Elliott Smith (Scott), April Elliott Jeter (Ronnie), Granddaughter Katelyn Henson Hinrickson (TJ), Grandsons Trace Henson, Hunter Henson and Spencer Henson. His pride and joy, his Great Granddaughter Emmerie-Kate Hinrickson and his two bonus Great Grandchildren, Gracelyn and Holden Hinrickson. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as friends and coworkers.
