Louise W. Lyon

November 30, 1926 – June 23, 2015

Louise Lyon, 88 of Gardendale passed away peacefully on June 23. There is finally “Peace in the Valley.” She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Luther Martin Lyon, Jr. She is survived by her two sons, Phillip Alan Lyon and Jeffrey Lee Lyon and a host of loving nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and her Gardendale Baptist Tabernacle Family.

Louise worked as bookkeeper for over 20 years at Fullilove Automotive for over twenty years. She owned Gardendale Alterations during the 1980’s and 1990’s. Louise had a passion for sewing and she sewed for over 80 years and was still doing alterations for the public. She always said “I don’t have customers-They are my friends.” She will be missed so much.

The family extends thanks to all of her friends, family, and church members, and a special thank you to John and Jackie Kent for all of their love and support.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday, June 24 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a chapel funeral on Friday at 11:00am which will be followed by a Graveside service in the Mount Olive Cemetery, Union Grove, AL at 2:00pm.
