Luther M. “Buddy” Myers, age 96 of Mount Olive, Alabama passed away on May 15, 2024. He was born to the late Mitchell and Mary Etta Myers in Philadelphia, Mississippi on December 22, 1927. Buddy never met a stranger as he enjoyed conversations with anyone he met. He was a lifelong NASCAR fan cheering on the greatest of the track. Buddy enjoyed cruising the oceans with his wife to Alaska, the Bahamas, and Jamaica; when he was stateside traveling he enjoyed camping and experiencing nature.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Peggy Holcomb Myers; his sister-in-love, Ann Doubleman; his brother-in-love, Kenneth Holcomb; three nieces, and numerous great nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and many friends. He is preceded in passing by his father, Mitchell Myers; his mother, Mary Etta King Myers; and his six sisters.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Buddy’s Life will begin at 2:00 pm in the Magnolia Hall at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with Brother Guy Moore officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
