Marie Smith

Marie was a member of Cornerstone Church of Mt. Olive. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother; she loved her family dearly and cherished the time she spent with them.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Travis and Meddie Mayfield, her husband of 47 years, Herbert W, Smith; fifteen brothers and sisters; one son-in-law, Jay Lewis; and one daughter-in-law, Florence Smith; three grandsons, Chris Smith, Jason Smith, and Shane West.

Marie is survived by two sons, Sammy Smith and his wife Mary Smith, and Ralph Smith; two daughters, Shirley Payton and Gaye Giangrosso and her husband James Giangrosso; seven grandchildren, Tammy Mosley and her husband James Mosley, Jay D. Lewis, Heath Smith, Angie Bradberry and her husband Sinjon, Tony Smith and his wife Sandy Smith, Alecia Smith, and Jeremy West; nine great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Celebration of Life services to be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Sunday, November 17, 2019 with a time of visitation from 1:00pm until 2:00pm; service at 2:00pm followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, Alabama.
