

Mary Linda Maddox Clark of Brentwood, Tennessee and formerly of Birmingham and Gardendale, Alabama passed away on Friday, May 31st, 2013 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee after a brief illness.
Linda met her husband, Ed, while they were students at Jacksonville State University and they were married for 46 years at the time of her passing. Linda was employed at Liberty National Life Insurance company for many years, working as an Executive Assistant and serving as a member of the Liberty Belles. Before relocating with her family to Brentwood, Tennessee in 1993, Linda was an active member of Gardendale First Baptist Church where she worked with Mission Friends and loved singing in the choir. She was a member of and served as President of Aegis Women's Club.
In Tennessee, Linda was a member Brentwood Baptist Church. She was active in the Brentwood High School Band Boosters, where she served as a member of the board and as president.
In recent years, health issues curtailed many of Linda's activities but she retained a cheerful and tenacious spirit and she continued to enjoy cooking, reading, knitting, crochet and Alabama Crimson Tide football.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Marlin M. Maddox and her mother, Mary Lee Maddox, both of Birmingham and Gardendale, Alabama. She is survived by her husband, Ed Clark and her beloved son, Jonathan Edward Clark, mother-in-law Mae Clark, brother-in-law Tom Clark, niece, nephews and cousins.
A visitation and memorial service for Linda will be held on Saturday June the 8th at Ridout' s Gardendale Chapel in Gardendale, Alabama. Interment will follow the service immediately in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
