Mary "Jan" Janice Ellis

Mary Janice Ellis, age 81 of Gardendale, AL passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Jan was a member of East Gardendale Baptist Church. She was a true football FAN, it didn’t matter if college or professional, she always loved watching games and Fox News. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Ellis. Jan is survived by her sons, Clifford (Kay) Gurley, Mike (Judy) Gurley, and Russell (Vicki) Gurley; Grandchildren, P.J. (Missy) Gurley, Dusty (Paul) Kanute, Brandon (Kaye) Gurley, Justin (Lauren) Gurley, Dawn (David) Brantley, Brett (Ashleigh)Gurley, Rachel (Taylor) Payne, and Raven Shuta; Great- Grandchildren, Abby, Emma, and Ty Gurley; Katelyn and Cale Kanute; Grant, Davis, and Ross Gurley; Elleson and Isla Gurley; William, Parker, Lydia, and Caleb Brantley; Sadie, Todd, and (on-the-way) Elliot Gurley; Isaac Payne; and Jake Gurley.

Services will be held on Friday, June 15th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 2 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Rev Mark Barber will officiate.
