Paul was a man of profound faith who lived by the conviction that "God will always make a way." This trust in the Lord guided him through a life filled with music, hard work, and an immense love for people. Growing up, he shared his testimony through music, playing the bass guitar and drums in a gospel singing group with his family.
An amazing father, Paul possessed a heart that was simply too big to be contained within "four walls." His love extended far beyond his own household, as he welcomed his children’s friends as his own. He never gave a second thought to spreading love, and he had a special, tender place in his heart for babies.
A true "Dodge guy" through and through, Paul had a passion for old-school cars and trucks. Whether he was working under a hood, traveling, or collecting classic records, he found joy in the "old school" ways. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hiking and caring for the earth through recycling. Paul’s career journey took him from the City of Gardendale to the telecommunications industry, finally retiring from the medical field as a Sleep Technician.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Elzie and Nellie Fines.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Fines; his children, Anderson Paul Fines, Emerald Hope Fines, and Brandon (Andrea) Smith; and his brothers, James (Sheila) Fines and Jerry (Julie) Fines. Six grandchildren Lucy Skye Fines, Elzie Walker Fines, Carson Smith, Bodhi Smith, Jackson Smith, and Elsi Smith. Five great-nephews, one great-niece, and another great-niece soon to be born.

Paul’s legacy of faith, rhythm, and wide-reaching love will be cherished forever by all who knew him.
