Phyllis Ann Green

Phyllis Ann Green, affectionately known as "PA", passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on December 10, 1938, in Bear Creek, Alabama, a day remember for the two inches of frost covering the ground. Phyllis lived a fulfilling 86 years, surrounded by family and friends.

Phyllis was the cherished wife of her high school sweetheart, Charles Green. Phyllis is preceded in death by her son Steve Green. She is survived by her brother James Vickery and his wife Donna and their children and grandchildren. Her daughter Denise Hidalgo and her husband Sean and their daughters Britney (Emory)Stroberg and, Erin, Emma, and Sophie, and her great grandchildren, Roland, Ford, Lee, and Shephard. A proud graduate of Fairview High School in 1957, Phyllis was crowned Homecoming Queen, a testament to her vivacious spirit and captivating presence.

Her life was marked by simple joys—Phyllis had a soft spot for strays and a love for birdwatching. She was a long-time member of the New Georgia Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.

A visitation to honor Phyllis's life will be held on July 9 at Ridout’s Funeral Home Gardendale, Alabama, at 10:00 am with the service at 11:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service. In celebrating her life, we remember the kindness, love, and joy she imparted to all who crossed her path. Phyllis Anne Green's memory will forever remain in our hearts.
