Richard Daniel Lee Sr.

Richard Service his country proudly and was a Marine Vietnam Veteran.

He was was a beloved father and Papa. He wore many different titles but those were his favorite. Throughout his years he was a truck driver, school bus driver for Hoover City Schools, and a Church of God minister. He was a cowboy at heart and loved his horses. Above all else he was a man of God and devoted to the word of God and his family.a

He was survived by his loving wife, Nancy A. Lee; son, Rev. R. Daniel Lee Jr. and wife Donna; daughter, Anita Lawson; grandchildren, Katie and husband Trent, Noah and wife Casey, Lee, Ellen, Sam and wife Jasmine, Madison; great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Nettie Lee; sister, Sharon Graham and her husband Raymond; brother, Lawrence Lee and his wife Judy.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses of UAB Medical center CCU, ICVU, and MICU units.

A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Grand Old Gospel House, 732 N Pine Hill Rd, Birmingham, AL 35217.
