Of Corner, passed away on October 6, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary Carl and Phillipia Cruce Florence; his loving wife of 62 years, JoAnn Lonnergan ¬¬¬Florence; Brothers, O.B., Eugene and Fort Florence and sister, Julia Florence Franklin. He is survived by his brother John (Eloise) Florence and many nieces and nephews. A special “Thank You” to David Headley for his friendship and loyalty to Pete over the years.
Pete was a World War II veteran. He was one of the first soldiers drafted prior to the war and was one of the last soldiers to be brought home after the war was over. Pete also worked many years and retired from the United States Post Office. After retiring, Pete enjoyed his time at his home on Lake Martin where he helped many people in his community. He was affectionately called “Uncle Pete” by many that knew him.
