Robert Edward Hamilton Sr.

Robert worked for many years as a diesel mechanic and he retired from Ross Neely Systems, Inc. He was a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed feeding the birds in the yard and watching them. Some of his passions were eating ice cream every night, drinking Folgers instant coffee and watching Wheel of Fortune.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Opal Hamilton; two sons, Robert Hamilton, Jr. and Benjamin Hamilton, and a brother, Raymond Hamilton.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Janice Hamilton; a son, Antonio "Tony" Stephens and his wife Makayla Stephens; three daughters, Kendra Stephens, Bobbie Jo Montalvaln, and Patricia McKinney; one brother, William Hamilton and his wife Ann Hamilton; two sisters, Delores Miller and Brenda Beasley; six grandchildren, Michael Mewborn, Aaron McKinney, Ashlie Bailey, Grace Hamilton, Olivia Hamilton, and Kaci Elbert; four great grandchildren, Antonio Stephens II, Blaze Hoarsley, Mary Jana McKinney, and Aleigha Bailey; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Celebration of life services for Robert will be held at Ridout's Gardendale, Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071, on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 with a time of visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM; funeral service at 2:00, followed by his burial at Cluster Springs Cemetery, Gardendale, Alabama.
