Simmes Duval Bevill

Simmes was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama, the son of the late Howard and Katie Bevill.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Gladys Brasfield Bevill. Surviving with his wife are his children Al Bevill, Mitchell (Barbara) Bevill, and Symmone (Mike) Keller. Grandchildren are Olivia Bevill, Mary Catherine Bevill, James Bevill, Andrew Bevill, Isabella (Coleman) Lett, Collin Harris, and great granddaughter Riley Kate.

Simmes was graduate of Walker County High School and the University of North Alabama. After 37 years of service, he retired as the Vice President of Sales at Steward Machinery.

Simmes was the Happiest surrounded by his family and his dog Max. He loved spending time at the lake teaching young people how to ski and vacationing at the beach with Gladys and his children . He was a member of Gardendale Baptist Church and the Empty Nester Life Group.

Simmes was preceded in death by his baby daughter Elizabeth Ruth; brother, Robert Bevill; and parents-in-law Albert and Etha Brasfield.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel from 2:00 to 3:00 pm with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 3:00 pm.
