It had been her lifelong ambition to be with Jesus. It was her greatest desire, but He had work for her to do here. She served Him with great zeal and passion all her days. As all who knew her can attest, she was a tireless campaigner against the works of darkness. Saving hundreds from drug addiction, prostitution, the darkest forms of child abuse, and so much more. She was fearless in pursuit of the lost. Fearless in the greatness of her love. Now her work is done and she has gone home. It is doubtful we shall see her like again.
Sue is survived by her three sons, Chip, Mark, Clay, and daughter Rita. Her sister Mavis Smith, ten grandchildren, and one with whom she has been reunited. 13 great grandchildren. She considered herself blessed of God by her family. She is also survived by the hundreds of others who had the privilege of calling her “Momma.”
A visitation for Sue will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel; followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL.
