Thomas Tommy McPherson

Thomas "Tommy" O’Neil McPherson, of Hayden, AL, was born to O’Neil and Sandra McPherson on June 26, 1968. He lived a full and fruitful 49 years on this earth until he was called to his eternal home on August 27, 2017. Tommy was a loving husband to April McPherson and a dedicated father to his six children, daughter, Cassandra Paige Lawrence(Chad Lawrence), sons Thomas O’Neil McPherson, Jr., Nelson Gage McPherson(Kaitlin McPherson), Tristan Blayde Myers, Carson Reed McPherson and Mason Shayne McPherson. He loved just being able to be a dad. He was happiest when he was able to spend quality time with April and the kids, whether it was coaching his twin sons on the football field as their youth football coach, spending the afternoon fishing or just relaxing on one of their camping trips, Tommy was a family man to the core. He loved God and he loved people. Working hard and loving people-that's how he lived. Tommy was proud to be a grandfather to his sweet four year old granddaughter, Anna Marie Lawrence. He was an active member of the community and loved helping others. He was a member of Faith Church of the Nazarene in Hayden, AL. He spent his work hours at A&A Machine in Jasper, AL. Tommy is also survived by both of his siblings, Jeff McPherson and Lisa Johnson. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mallie Kate Lawrence. Although we may not understand why his earthly body was taken away from us at such a young age, we can take comfort that we have gained the best guardian angel ever. Fly high Tommy! There will be a celebration of Tommy’s life at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel Sunday, September 3rd, 2017 beginning at 2 PM. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 5 until 8 PM. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
