David Guerra

David Guerra passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the age of 78. He was born in Hebbronville, Texas and worked primarily in the oil industry and public works in South Texas prior to his retirement. He moved to Georgetown, Texas, where he continued his hobbies of vegetable gardening, grilling, cooking and taking nature walks in the park. He enjoyed socializing with family and close friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Guadalupe (Garza) Guerra, and his brothers, Alfredo, Oscar, Jesus, and Juan Guerra. His wife, Gregoria Gomez, whom he married on August 19, 1959, preceded him into the loving arms of God on April 10, 2014. He is survived by two brothers, Daniel (Azucena) and Francisco Guerra, Jr. (Rosa Linda), and his sister, Sylvia Dominguez, all from the South Texas area along with his sister-in-law, Adelita Guerra (wife of Juan Guerra). He is survived by his five children, David Guerra, Jr. (Tammy) of Dallas, Texas, Susana Hernandez (Juan) of Georgetown, Texas, Gilbert Guerra (Olivia) of Ricardo, Texas, Ruben Guerra of Austin, Texas, and Maria Guerra of Georgetown, Texas. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.David was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, kind-hearted spirit, and trustworthiness. His service will be held, 10AM, Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Georgetown with burial to follow at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery.A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.https://www.tributeslides.com/tributes/show/RQQFSJ4SZHRHTJ2M
