

Dennis graduated from John Marshall High School in San Antonio, TX in 1968, playing the clarinet in the school band. Among his first jobs was the San Antonio HemisFair of 1968. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and received a BS in Electrical Engineering with honors in 1972 and a MS in Electrical Engineering in 1976, supporting himself through both degrees. Dennis was the first person in his family to graduate from college.
Upon graduation in 1972, Dennis went to work for Texas Instruments before leaving to spend the remainder of his career at IBM as an electrical engineer and a manager, retiring in 2007. Dennis traveled extensively for IBM, making numerous business trips not just domestically, but to Europe, Asia, and Australia.
Dennis married Peggy Anne Goethe on June 14, 1975. To their union sons Jeffrey Andrew in 1978 and Brian Allen in 1981 were born. They spent the first years of their marriage in Austin before spending the last 38 years in Georgetown.
Dennis had a lifelong love of freshwater and coastal fishing, and in recent years took up an interest in fly fishing. He also had an encyclopedic memory of classic and antique cars and airplanes. In his retirement years, he indulged his interests in genealogy research, gardening, working on home projects, listening to music, cooking and grilling, and traveling to new places with Peggy. Their time in retirement allowed them to indulge their lifelong love of Longhorn sports by attending numerous home and away games. Dennis especially loved spending time with family and friends, and was widely known both for his big heart, kindness, and sense of humor. Dennis was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who was devoted to his family.
Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Busch, father, Charles Busch, Jr., father-in-law Art Goethe, and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Dennis is survived by his wife, Peggy Anne Busch of Georgetown, son Brian Busch of Austin, mother Peggy Joyce Busch of Bergheim, and mother-in-law Helen Goethe of Georgetown. He is also survived by sisters Rebecca Busch and Cindy Valdez of Bergheim, sister-in-law Susan Stanfield of Denton, brother-in-law Gary Goethe of Georgetown, several aunts, nieces and nephews, and numerous friends that he made throughout his life.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 6, 2022 at 2:00 at First United Methodist Church of Georgetown with a reception following in the McKinney Center. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to The Caring Place of Georgetown or Brookwood in Georgetown (BiG), or the charity of your choice.
