Dennis B. Penso

Dennis spent his young life as a South Austin boy with much of his summers swimming in Barton Spring and playing in Zilker Park.  Dennis was extremely proud to have attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a bachelors degree in Business Administration.  Drafted during the Vietnam Conflict, he went on to serve 37 years in Army Military Intelligence and later retire as a Lt. Colonel.  Dennis loved sports and was a loyal Texas Longhorn.  He also loved bass fishing, was a life long bowler, collected knives, and was always good for a Dad joke.  He loved travel, his golf cart, pool days with the family, his grandchildren, his horses and margaritas.

Dennis was preceded in death by his mother and father and two brothers, Terry and Rance.  Dennis is survived by his wife and soul mate of 40 years, Barbara, his daughter and son-in-law Shawn Penso and Ed Kraus, his daughter and son-in-law Robyn and Jason Riggins, his daughter and son-in-law Rikki and Daniel Pham, and his son and daughter-in-law Jeremiah and Nicole Bristol, in addition to his grandchildren, Drake, Katie, Colbie, Erin, Ruby and Briley.    

A Memorial service will be held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, February 8th beginning at 10 am.
