Esther Lillian Johnson

Esther Lillian Johnson, 99 of Round Rock, a long time resident of Johnson City, New York, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011. A service celebrating Esther’s life and her faith will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, TX. The family will gather for a time of visitation at 2:00PM. Interment will occur at a later date at Birchardville Cemetery in Birchardville, Pennsylvania. Esther was born April 6, 1911 in Johnson City, New York to the late Edward and Mary Deuel Hoag. Esther spent most of her life in the Johnson City area. She had lots interesting adventures in her 99 years of life, including working on the Girls Brigade during WWI. Esther married J. William Johnson on June 29, 1929. Bill preceded her in death in 1963. Esther worked as an Inventory Sales Clerk for J C Penney Company for over 25 years. She was an avid sports fan and could hardly be beaten at a game of dominos. Esther moved to Round Rock about 20 years ago. Upon coming to the area she became an avid UT Fan, San Antonio Spurs Fan and a Dallas Cowboys Fan. Esther was a member of the Early Birds Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Round Rock. Esther leaves behind to cherish her memory and live on in her legacy, her children, Jack Johnson and his wife Beverly of Round Rock and Barbara Burge and her husband Bill of Louisville, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren, Jackie Jackson, Karen Hierholzer, Jay Johnson, Donna Hensley, Michael Dutter, Bobby Dutter, Kyle Dutter and Brenda Caro, Terry Allen; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
