Florence Mae Clawson

Florence Mae Clawson born on July 6th 1935 in Belton County, Texas passed away on January 11th 2026 in Round Rock, Texas after an illness. Florence married Leslie Ernest Clawson on May 6th 1953 and celebrated almost 66 great years together before Leslie’s passing. She was also preceded in death by her parents John Neal and Oma Mae Messer, 7 brothers, 2 sisters and grandson Arthur Lee Clawson. She is survived by her 5 sons and their wives, Frank and Lou Ann (Killeen, TX), Jerry and Vickie (Weir, TX), Russell and Jeni (Tampa, FL), Larry and Renee (Georgetown, TX) and Michael and Sarah (Austin, TX), 9 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a whole slew of cousins and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Charlton Clawson, Vincent Clawson, Jason Clawson, Justin Clawson, Mason Clawson, Ethan Kehm and Justin Bostic. Florence never complained and was a benefactor of family, friends and acquaintances with equal fervor. Her ability to talk and relate to anyone is renowned and keeps them all coming back time and again if only to pass the time of day or to eat a slice of her homemade pies. She never met a person she couldn’t get along with and make them a lifelong friend. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 3 to 5PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory. A funeral service in memory of Florence will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 1 p.m. at the Community Bible Church of Weir under the direction of The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory with Rev. Jackie Thomison, Jr, and Pastor Michael Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Weir City Cemetery next to her husband.
