

Franklin Lee Todd passed away Dec. 11, 2013 Born in Poteau, Oklahoma on July 20, 1927, Frank joined the Navy at 17. He served aboard Sub Chaser 1368, part of the "Splinter Fleet", in the South Pacific toward the end of WWII. Frank was 18 at the time. His "Skipper" was 20 year-old Pierre Salinger. Frank and Tess (Tessie Ruth Rozell) were married September 1, 1950. They celebrated their 63rd anniversary on September 1, 2013. Frank spent 23 years as a firefighter, retiring from the Renton, Washington Fire Department in 1972. Following his retirement from firefighting, Frank served as Manager of Fire Services for a safety equipment company in Seattle. He worked with drilling companies on the North Slope, mines in Idaho and Montana, and timber and fishing industries in Washington. Frank enjoyed life in the Northwest; skiing, fly fishing, hunting, and camping with his family. Frank enjoyed woodworking, and for years maintained a complete workshop, turning out furniture for family, toys for grandchildren, and all sorts of "would you" projects for church and charitable organizations. He was active in Kiwanis, delivered Meals on Wheels, and served on boards and committees in his church. He was a Carpenter's Club member of Habitat for Humanity. Frank and Tess enjoyed travel, whether in the US or abroad. They moved to Sun City in 2003. Frank is survived by Tess, son Michael Todd and wife Peggy of Yelm, Washington, and grandchildren Loren Todd and wife Erin, both US Army, and Andrew Todd and wife Valentina of Everett, Washington and by daughter Judy Todd Beglau and husband Robert, and grandchildren Joshua Beglau, Sally Beglau Nava and husband John David Nava and Katie Beglau, all of the Austin area. Survivors also include brother George Boring and wife Lyudmila of Houston. A Memorial Service, honoring Frank's life, will be held at 10:30 am on Friday December 13th at Faith Lutheran Church, 4510 Williams Drive, Georgetown. In accordance with Frank's wishes, his body has been donated to Life Legacy for tissue research. Memorial gifts may be made to Faith Lutheran Church - Building Fund, www.flcms.org or to a charity of the donor's choice. The family wishes to express appreciation to Dr. Christopher Hearne for years of care, to Scott and White Hospice, and to Visiting Angels Brenda, David, Wayne and Yolanda for their part in enabling Frank to live and die at home.
