

Jerry Don King, Age 78, of Lago Vista (formerly of Georgetown) passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 16, 2015. His baby girl Sharla Bridges was waiting for him at the heavenly gates. Jerry was born on July 2, 1937 in Brownwood, Texas to Charles and Minnie King who preceded him in death. He attended Georgetown High School where he was an outstanding athlete. He married his loving wife Cecile Earlene Wilhite on June 30, 1957 in Round Rock, Texas and they had 4 children. Jerry worked for GTE Phone Company for 36 years-retiring in 1989. Then he went to work for GISD as a school bus driver for 8 years and the kids loved him. He greeted each child with a big smile! Jerry was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for Georgetown for many years. He loved to hunt, fish, play softball, coach little league baseball and crack jokes which always made everyone laugh. Jerry was an all-around kind, caring man that everyone knew and fell in love with. He was a wonderful son, father, grandfather and friend and we will all miss him so very much! He is now in the happy hunting grounds of heaven as he referred to it. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Earlene King, daughters Jerri Lynn Douglas (Norm), Lisa David (Bobby), son Charles (Chuck) King and son-in-law Carroll Bridges. Granddaughters Megan David, Madie David and Jennifer McDonald. Grandsons Rob David (Jen), Brent David, Shawn Kitterman, Allan Kitterman (Emily) and Karson King. Great-grandchildren Hannah, Benjamin, Julia, Jaxon, Danny, Bowen, Dylan and Phoenix. Pallbearers - Jim Vaclavik, Jimmie Chambers, Jimmy Nunn, Joe Skiles, Lynn Bonnett and MJ “PeeWee”Kimbro. Honorary Pallbearers -loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
