

John Robert Zavala, 45, passed away peacefully at his home in Austin, Texas on March 29, 2019 after a brief illness. He came into this world on July 10, 1973, born to John and Paula Zavala of Georgetown, Texas.
He attended Georgetown schools and received his diploma in 1991. During high school, he played on the G.H.S Tennis Team which was his favorite sport. His employment career began in high school as he worked for the HEB Corp for 13 years and then spent the last 15 years employed by the State of Texas helping others through his social work. John Robert had a love and passion for the fine arts, his favorite being Broadway musicals. He attended every musical that came through Austin, but also traveled to surrounding cities to see his absolute favorite, “The Phantom of the Opera”.
He leaves behind his beloved kitty, Ally; Mother and Father, sister Theresa and brother in law, Eric Rodriguez, all of Georgetown; sister Debra and brother in law Joe Mathis of Bozeman, Montana; niece Lauryn Mathis of Big Sky, Montana and nephew Bradley Mathis of Bozeman, Montana; and his loving cousin, Patricia Miranda-Hartsuff of Chelsea, Michigan. Also surviving him are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many many friends.
A celebration of his life will be held 10AM, Monday, April 1, 2019, at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH-35, Georgetown, Texas, 78628.
