Maria Josefina Vega

Maria was born on December 6, 1961 in Pinos, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Maria and Porfirio Garcia. At the age of 21, Maria made her way from Mexico to the United States with her siblings and oldest daughter. She started a family with her husband and raised 7 children. During her lifetime she worked various jobs including over a decade for Wal-Mart, Georgetown and Round Rock ISD, and St. David's Hospital. In 2002, Maria became a grandmother for the first time. Since that day, her life was dedicated to her grandchildren and in 2019, she left work to become a full time grandmother to her youngest grandchildren. Maria was fully committed to her family and her faith, and although our family will not be the same without her, there is a sense of peace knowing she is resting eternally with Our Heavenly Father.

Maria was preceded in death by her mother and father, Maria and Porfirio Garcia, of Pinos, Zacatecas, Mexico. Left behind to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 30 years Natividad Vega, her six daughters, Brenda Ramirez, Alicia Machen, Vanessa Garcia, Aurora Vega, Viviana Vega, Nikki Vega, her son, Pedro Vega, her five sons-in-law, Rene Daniel Ramirez, Raymond Garcia Jr., Christopher Whittenberg, and Joshua Garza, Jose Morales Jaimes and all seventeen of her beautiful grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Elisa Hernandez, two brothers, four sisters, and extended family in the United States and Mexico.
