

Mary H. Garner, 60 of Austin, passed away surrounded by her family at a Lakeway hospital. She was born in Arlington, Texas, March 5, 1956, the daughter of Robert Norwell Howell and Patricia Imogene (Wilson) Howell. She graduated from Arlington High School and worked for the Flower Villa in Arlington and numerous other floral shops. Mary married her husband, William Garner 32 years ago in Fort Worth, Texas. Her biggest passion was drag boat racing and traveled with her dad and brother all over to the drag boat races. Her father would often let her race because she had a faster reaction time than her brother. She was also a member of the Southern Drag Boat Association. Mary enjoyed gardening and spending time with her friends and family. She loved to watch Golden Girls and was a great cook.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; one son, William Knouss Jr.; one grandchild, Christian Renee Knouss; and one brother, Robert Eugene Howell.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, William Garner; two sons, Russel VO Knouss and Robert “Cody” Garner; six grandchildren, Kenneth Anthony Knouss, Kylie Michelle Knouss, Savannah Ashlyn Cool, Austin Presley Garner, Russell Lee Williams, Korben Allen Knouss; and one great-grandchild on the way.
