Miguel Angel Maldonado Jr.

Miguel Angel Maldonado was born in Brownsville Texas February 12, 1959. He was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis of the bone marrow, which caused a deterioration of health, that would ultimately lead to his definitive resting on January 17, 2024. Although Dad’s life was cut short, he lived an adventurous, loving and competitive life. Residing in Georgetown, Texas the majority of his life, his most impactful feat was being an umpire for nearly 30 years in the community. He took a lot of pride in being able to see family and friends’ kids grow up around the baseball fields.

He is survived by: Wife of 16 years Martha Elena Maldonado; Mother Maria Isabel Maldonado Balfour; Siblings Juanita Dela Cruz (George),Martin Maldonado (Barbie), Angel Maldonado, Jessie Maldonado, Adam Maldonado, Robert Maldonado; Aunts Eva Viera (Cande) Rosita Maldonado; Mother of his Children Angie Rodriguez; Children Michael Maldonado (Adriana) Isreal Maldonado (Denise) He was a loving Step Father to Valerie McGuire, Melanie Nuncio and Donny Carrasco; Grandchildren Santana Maldonado, Isabella Maldonado, Kai Ventura, Lan Ventura, Haleigh Abundiz, Nathan Maldonado; Nieces LeTisha Dela Cruz, Veronica Hood, Pauline Maldonado, Melanie Valdez; Nephews Gregory Dela Cruz, Marcus Maldonado, Adriack Maldonado and Aldrick Valdez.

 By whatever name you knew him by – Miguel, Mike, PAPA, Pops or Grandpa.

Dad was the type of guy that would give you his last 10 dollars (well half) if you needed it. If you ever told him a joke, he would have one ready to tell you back. He was always willing and ready to go do anything outdoors and or go dancing. He loved just about every sport there was, his favorites included fishing, billiards, football and pitching washers. Like his dad he always took pride in the way he dressed, you could always find him in one of his classic Penner outfits topped off with matching shoes and hat.

Dad you will always be remembered and loved by your family and friends.

A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10- 11 am at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel with the funeral services beginning at 11 am.
