Mike Keith Chaney

Michael Keith Chaney “Uncle Mike”, 40 of Bertram, Texas, was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, Texas from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 10:00AM in the Chapel at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ronald Bowden. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery, Bertram, Texas. Pallbearers will be Darrell Sutton, Stephen Cunningham, Calvin Chaney, Chris Chaney, Shane Smith, Cody Smith, Caleb Smith, Mathew Chaney and Shane Rapp. Mike was born in Waco, Texas on June 12, 1968. He was raised in Texas City, Texas until he was a teenager. He has lived in Bertram for the past 8 years. Mike was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Mike has worked as a Sales Representative for the past 10 years for American Arbors in Round Rock. Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Naoma Sue Wolff on January 19, 1981, his sons, Zachary Caleb Chaney and Baby Boy Chaney. Michael leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Tisha Sawl; his father, Charles Chaney; children, Macaella Thomas, Dillan Liscum; his brothers and sisters, Charles Chaney, Jr. and his wife Sharon, Carol Smith and her husband Hollis, Russell Chaney and his wife Uphie and Ranee Smith and her husband Charles. Mike felt honored by and worked very passionately at being a great dad, husband, brother and uncle. Uncle Mike was loved dearly by his children, nieces and nephews, and many other loving family members. He will be truly missed.
