Nancy White

Nancy Ellis Nuckolls Blom White passed away peacefully on October 17th after a years long battle with dementia. Nancy was born on March 24, 1945 in San Francisco. She was the eldest child of Paul and Ellen Nuckolls. She spent most of her youth in Houston, Texas growing up alongside her siblings Paul Nuckolls, Jr. and Jan Nuckolls. After graduating from Memorial High School in Houston, Nancy went on to receive her Bachelors in Art History from Southern Methodist University. She later earned her Master’s degree from Louisiana State University. 

After college she lived overseas in Norway and Belgium with her first husband Hans Blom, who she had her first sons Thomas and Hans Blom with. After her husband Hans Sr’s death, Nancy moved back home to Texas to be closer to her parents. She pursued her Doctorate at the University of Texas in Austin. While in Austin, Nancy met Stanley White who she later married in 1975. Together, they grew their family with the additions of Scott White, Myka White and Josh White. They raised their family together in Georgetown, Texas and ran multiple businesses together. 

Nancy was best known for her kind and loving spirit. She approached life with optimism, resilience, and an altruistic sense of service to others. When Nancy wasn’t nurturing and providing for her family, she was at home being creative - she loved to play piano and make various forms of art. She loved to sketch and draw, paint, as well as play with clay. She hand painted clay luminaries and later found a love for making tile mosaics. She was also a skilled photographer who won local awards for her beautiful photos. Her favorite style of art was abstract, and this was reflected in how she lived her life. She had a green thumb, and loved to spend time outdoors in her orchard or garden, planting flowers or potting succulents. In all facets of life whether it was at home, at work, indoors or out, Nancy’s touch added to her surroundings and left the world a more beautiful place. 

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Ellen Nuckolls, her first husband Hans Blom Sr, and husband of over 40 years, Stanley White. She leaves behind an indelible legacy of lasting love through her five children and, perhaps her greatest source of pride, her seventeen grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, from 5-7 PM. The Celebration of Life will take place the following afternoon, Friday, October 27, beginning at 2 PM also at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel.
