Porfirio San Miguel

Porfirio San Miguel, 78 of Georgetown passed away on August 12, 2010 with his family at his side. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, Texas. A service celebrating Porfirio’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 10:30AM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery. Porfirio was born April 5, 1932 in Taylor to the late Frank and Mary Maine San Miguel. He is preceded in death by his son, Joe San Miguel; his daughter, Sarah Salazar; brothers and sisters, Victoria McQuinn, Ulalia San Miguel, Lilly Hernandez, Chris San Miguel, Johnny San Miguel, and Joe San Miguel; and an infant grandson. Porfirio married Susie Olivarez on August 8, 1950. Porfirio was a farmer and rancher in Milam and Williamson County. He loved the land, repairing fence, plowing and picking cotton. He was an excellent story teller, always known as a happy man and an entertainer. He was an avid John Wayne fan, he enjoyed watching old western movies with his family. Porfirio leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 60 years, Susie San Miguel; his children, Jo Ann Lara and husband Larry, Frank San Miguel and his wife Angie, Mary San Migel, Angel San Miguel, Michaelle San Miguel, Pete San Miguel, Roy Salazar, Randy Salazar, Virginia Salazar, Sandy Saucedo and husband Eddie, Ronnie Salazar and his wife Theresa, Sarah Salazar, Dominga Salazar, and Frances Olguin and husband Placido; brothers and sisters, Caroline Lefler, Cecelia Villasana and husband Manuel, Raymond San Miguel, and Albert San Miguel Porfirio is also survived by his 30 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren with a two new additions on the way; along with many other loving family members and friends. Honoring Porfirio as pallbearers will be, Raymond San Migel, Brandon San Miguel, Ronnie Salazar, Michael Lopez, Roy Salazar, and Placido Olguin.
