Refugio Garcia Lopez, Sr., 84 of Georgetown, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009. Refugio was born on July 4, 1924 in Mercedes, Texas to the late Santigo Lopez and Paula Garcia Lopez. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Maria Lopez, son, Refugio Lopez, Jr., and his brother, Rafael Lopez and a granddaughter, Loren Lee Cabellero. Refugio leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Elicia Lopez; his children, Rosalinda Bernal and husband Edward, Jose Lopez and wife Mary, Jesus Lopez and wife Minerva, Juan Lopez, Rolando Lopez, Aminta Garza, Raul Lopez and wife Leticia, Ricardo Lopez, Sr. and wife Guadalupe, Ruben Lopez and wife Esperanza, Roger Lopez and wife Claudia, Rachel Rodriguez and husband Albert and Rebecca Lopez; brother, Rogacion Ortiz; 38 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren and other loving family members. Services being held at Gonzalez Family Funeral Home in Edinburg, Texas. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Edinburg, Texas.
