

Ricky was the only child born to Richard and Gayle Horne in Fredericksburg, TX on March 6, 1963. He lived in Junction for 18 years, graduating from Junction High School in 1981. He then attended Abilene Christian University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1984. He would eventually come to work for the State of Texas as an accountant with the Texas Public Finance Authority.
Ricky moved to Georgetown, TX where he met his wife, Teresa Rosser, in 1994 at the Georgetown Church of Christ in the old building on Austin Ave. They married on June 24, 1995 surrounded by family and friends. In 1997, Ricky and Teresa had their first child, Christopher. Three years later, they welcomed their second child, Stephen, into the world. They completed their family with the birth of their only daughter, RaeAnn in 2002. Ricky was proud of each of his children. He worked hard to make sure they were taken care of and felt loved every day.
Ricky wore many titles: husband, dad, son, friend, and elder. Above all else, Ricky loved the Lord. He was an elder at the Gabriel Oaks church of Christ for the last several years of his life. While shepherding the church, Ricky focused his efforts on helping and teaching the youth, teaching various Bible Classes, leading singing, overseeing the Lads to Leaders Program, and various accounting needs for the church. He was a tireless worker who loved to serve the Lord and His people. The impact of Ricky’s passing will be felt for many years at Gabriel Oaks.
Ricky wasn’t a big fan of social media. Instead, he preferred to talk to people face to face. He would enjoy local sporting events and listening to country music in his free time.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents: Jim and Stella Herron of Junction, TX; Cecil and Julia Gray of Rockport, TX. He is also preceded in death by his Aunt Martha and Uncle Edward Giles of Splendora, TX; as well as his Sister-in-law Sherrill Thurber of Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa, his children: Christopher, Stephen and RaeAnn, his father and mother: Richard and Gayle Horne of Georgetown, TX.
Ricky is also survived by many in his extended family including his Aunts and Uncles: Jimmy and Annette Herron of Lampasas; Gary and Bessie Horne of Fort Worth, Carolyn Turner of Carlsbad,TX; multiple cousins; his Brother-in-law, James (Ada) Rosser of Bertram, TX; and Sister-in-law Rebekah (Steve) Strain of Nevis, MN.
