Robert Edwin Martin was born on October 21, 1935 in Havana, Arkansas to Robert Ezra Martin and Helen Clyde (Frazier) Martin, he passed away at the age of 72 on Saturday, July 19, 2008 in Georgetown, Texas. After graduating from High School, Robert joined the U.S. Navy as a Radio Repairman. He served on the USS Cotton during the Korean War. He continued working as a civilian at the Airforce Communications Command at Scott Airforce Base in Illinois as a Logistics Management Specialist where he retired in 1994. He then moved to Georgetown, Texas with his family. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, sisters June Rodgers, Judy Kemp, and Dana Martin. He is survived by sisters, Martha Donnell and husband Winfred of Danville, Arkansas, Barbara Edwards and husband Wayne of El Dorado, Arkansas, son, Michael Robert Martin and wife Shannon of Jarrell, Texas, daughter, Elizabeth Janelle Bays and husband Parker of Stephenville, Texas, four grandsons, Zachary Robert Martin, Garrett James Lee Martin, Christopher William Bays, Alexander Samuel Bays, former wife and long time friend Linda Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Robert’s life will be held in October near his childhood home in Arkansas.
