Rudolph John Vrana Jr.

Rudolph John Vrana, Jr., known to his friends and family as Rudy, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the age of 82. Rudy was born May 18, 1943, and lived his entire life in Jarrell, Texas. He was born to Rudolph and Elizabeth Straka Vrana and raised on a farm between Jarrell and Schwertner. After attending school at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Corn Hill, he completed his education at Jarrell High School. Rudy was baptized at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on May 20, 1943, where he was a lifelong member.

Upon graduation, he began working for American Desk in Temple, Texas, where he stayed for 32 years. After the business closed, Rudy had the privilege of working for HEB in Georgetown for 15 years. He gave and received much joy with his fellow employees and customers, many who were friends.

During his employment at American Desk he met his future wife, Gloria B. Harris. They were married on August 13, 1983. They were truly partners in all they did, even serving alongside each other at their respective churches. Rudy enjoyed his life of faith in his relationship with Jesus.

Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Elizabeth Vrana; brother, Johnny Vrana; sister, Rosalie Vrana; and one stepson, Johnny Allen Harris. In addition to his wife Gloria, Rudy is survived by one sister, Jo Ann Fojtik; brother, Anthony Vrana; brother, Michael Vrana, all of Jarrell; one stepson Glenn Harris; two stepdaughters, Christie Harris and Etta Melton. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Rudy always loved rain and checking with friends to compare who got the most. At the same time, he usually found a way to talk about football scores, especially enjoying and attending many of the Jarrell Cougar football games over the years. Rudy was a quiet, generous man who served the Lord faithfully and with joy.

A Rosary will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 8626 FM1105, Jarrell, TX, on April 25, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at the same location on April 25, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Burial will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, 8600 FM 1105, Jarrell, TX, on April 25, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am.
