Thomas L Keeler

1937-2026

Thomas LaRue Keeler (Tom) was born in Bloomsburg, PA February 7, 1937. He passed away in Round Rock, TX on January 29, 2026. He was born to the late Lester H. Keeler and Elizabeth C. (Hess) Keeler. He grew up in Lycoming County, PA before joining the US Air Force September 10, 1956, after he graduated from Hughesville High School.

Tom started his lengthy military career in the Air Police squadron where he spent approximately 10 years until he cross-trained into Command & Control where he remained until he retired on October 1,1984 at the rank of MSgt. E-7. His last few years in the Air Force, Tom was on the (Pre) Inspector General team and traveled to multiple AF bases to perform inspections ahead of the main IG team. His 28-year career took him and his family all over the world. He was stationed in, Goose Bay Labrador Canada, Turkey, twice, Guam, California, twice, Indiana, Hawaii, Nebraska, as well as multiple Temporary Duty assignments in between.

After retiring from the Air Force, Tom began his second career at the Redlands California Police Department as a 911 dispatcher, where he retired in 1993. Upon his second retirement, Tom and Sue moved to Hutto, Texas to be closer to family.

Tom was preceded in death by his Wife of 62 years, Sue A. (Conrad) Keeler, father, Lester H. Keeler, his mother Elizabeth C. (Hess) Keeler, brothers, Franklin Keeler, Graydon Keeler, Carl R. Keeler, and Richard P. Keeler.

He is survived by his sister, Bonnie L. (Keeler) Riddell (Gene) of Florida, daughters, Polle (Keeler) Tejidor (Jose) of Texas, Belinda (Keeler) Damm (Mardy) of Texas, and Tomi (Keeler) White (Todd) of Texas. He is also survived by grandchildren, Laura (Chance), Jose, Spencer, Graydon (Powell), Katherine (Jake), Andrea (Joshua), and Hannah. Great Grand grandchildren, Jaylen, Ava, Zane, Chase, Hallie, Bodie, Blake, and Adeline. Great, Great grandson, Francisco.

A graveside service will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Located at 11463 TX – 195, Killeen, TX 76542. February 12, 2026, at 11:00 am.
