Thomas "Tommy" James Carruthers, III

Thomas James Carruthers, III, passed away on the morning of Saturday, July 23, 2011. A memorial service celebrating Tommy’s life and his free spirit will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 1:00PM, at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, Texas 78628. Thomas was born June 18, 1986 in Austin, Texas to Thomas James, Jr. and Frances A. George Carruthers. Tommy was raised in the Liberty Hill area, graduating from Liberty Hill High School in 2004. Tommy had a love of nature and lived life as a free spirit. He was a talented musician and artist, saw life with his heart and differently than most people. Tommy enjoyed photography, roller blading, rock climbing and most of all playing the guitar. He had aspirations of becoming a River Rafting Guide in Colorado, where he was preparing to move. Tommy has written several songs from his heart, with his guitar, it would be hard to say which of his many guitars was his favorite, but all of them brought him great joy. Tommy is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Gloria George; and his paternal grandmother, Edwina Carruthers. Tommy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother and step-father, Fran and John Feathers, Sr.; his father, Thomas James Carruthers, Jr.; siblings, Donny Boots and his wife Tali, John Bruce Feathers, Jr., Tiffani Jo Feathers; grandfather, Thomas James Carruthers, Sr.; grandparents, Virgil and Jackie Feathers; aunts, Linda Delapp and her husband Stanley, Cyndy Beaudin, Kathy Smith and her husband Gary, Cindy Samok and her husband Bob Wuest, Becky Sickel and her husband Kevin; along with numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of loving friends.
