Tim was born on January 16, 1951, in Houston, Texas, to Michael John Elliott Sr. and Dorothy Leinbach Elliott. As a boy he was active in sports, playing baseball throughout elementary and middle school and football in high school. He was also involved in Boy Scouts and served as an altar boy. Even in his younger years, Tim was known for his humor, curiosity, and the playful spirit that would remain with him throughout his life.
Tim was a devoted father who brought a spirit of adventure to family life. His children remember him as a fun and adventurous dad who loved the outdoors. Many of their childhood memories were shaped by camping trips, fishing, exploring caves across Texas and New Mexico, and beach trips to the Texas coast.
In 1981 Tim moved to Georgetown, Texas, where he would spend the rest of his life. It was there that he met Betty, who had contacted his father about a plumbing issue. Tim was sent instead, and the meeting would change both of their lives.
Tim and Betty were married in 1990 and shared more than thirty-five years together. Their marriage was rooted in deep love, devotion to family, and their shared Catholic faith, which remained central to their life together at St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown, where Tim was a devoted member of the parish community.
Tim lovingly embraced Betty’s daughter, Chrissy, as his own, formally adopting her and proudly becoming her father. Their bond formed quickly and became a central part of Tim and Betty’s life together. As parents, they were tireless advocates for Chrissy’s care and well-being, creating a home grounded in love, stability, and faith.
Tim built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and a natural talent for working with his hands. He spent much of his career as a pipe fitter and journeyman plumber, eventually serving as a supervisor, a path that suited both his mechanical mind and his pride in doing things the right way. He was known for his reliability, problem-solving skills, and the satisfaction he took in a job well done.
Those who knew Tim best remember his quick wit and playful sense of humor. He had a knack for lessening awkward moments with a well-timed joke, bringing laughter to even the most ordinary situations.
Tim was also an avid reader with a lifelong curiosity about the world. He especially enjoyed books on history and science, along with a good mystery or a Stephen King novel.
Family remained the center of Tim’s life. He stayed closely connected to all of his children and grandchildren, traveling often to spend time with family and share in their lives. Tim and Betty especially cherished the summers when the whole family gathered at their vacation spot in Rockport, Texas. Those trips to the coast became a treasured tradition, filled with beach days, fishing, laughter, and time together that his grandchildren will always remember.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael John Elliott Sr. and Dorothy Leinbach Elliott; his daughter, Christina Ann (Chrissy) Elliott; and his brother, Michael John Elliott Jr.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; his children, Deirdre Elliott Allen (Brad Allen) and Ben Elliott (Mia Elliott); his siblings, Dorothy Miculka and David Elliott; his cherished grandchildren, Christopher Blom, Henry Rodgers, Clay Elliott, and Aaron Elliott; and a great-grandson expected in April 2026, whom he eagerly anticipated meeting. He is also survived by a large extended family of brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and godchildren.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Beth Hellerstedt and the entire staff at the Texas Oncology Infusion Center in Round Rock for their exceptional care, as well as the nurses and aides of St. David’s Hospice and the aides from Heavenly Care, especially his months-long caregiver Kathy. They are also deeply grateful to the many friends, neighbors, and family members who offered support, especially Janice, Jan, Shirley, and Robert.
A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, April 16, from 5-7 pm with the Rosary beginning at 7 pm at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Tx.
The funeral mass will take place the following afternoon, Friday, April 17, at 2 pm at St. Helen Catholic Church, Georgetown, Tx. After which, Tim will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Tx.
