

He was 89 years old, born on November 28, 1929 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Clemille Jean St. Pierre. He is survived by his sisters Ethel St. Pierre Ledet and Rita St. Pierre Derouen; three children: daughters Lisette St. Pierre-Weldon of New Orleans, LA and Nicole St. Pierre Westmoreland and husband Kade of Georgetown, TX, and his adopted son, Jo’Vonta Grimble of Georgetown, TX; grandchildren: Anna Weldon, John James Weldon III, Lauren Westmoreland, and Sarah Westmoreland. He was preceded in death by his sisters Sylvia St. Pierre Ricks and Ina St. Pierre Tournabean, and his brother, Paul St. Pierre.
He was a graduate of Hahnville High School and LSU. He served on active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds incurred there.
A geologist by profession, he was well respected as a maverick “oil finder”. He rose to prominence as the VP of Exchange Oil & Gas Co., VP of the New Orleans Geological Society, and President of his own exploration company, Warexco.
At age 68, he adopted Jo’Vonta Grimble and took great joy in assisting Jo’Vonta’s many successful sports accomplishments.
