Arlene was born on November 26, 1956 in Covina, CA. She married her best friend and the love of her life, Santiago “Jimmy” Martinez, on January 2nd, 1976. She passed away just shy of their 46th wedding anniversary. She had two daughters, Amanda and Tamara, who all 3 shared a very special bond. She was also blessed with her Son in Law Rendy, grandson Justin and her granddaughter’s Shelby and CaliLove.
Arlene resided in Azusa, CA in her early years of life. In 1987, Arlene and Jimmy purchased their first and only home in Glendora, CA. She lived a very modest and simple life. She was happy and content as long as her loved ones were nearby.
Everything Arlene did was for her family. She loved to cook her delicious Chicken Tacos, as well as bake. She also found it extremely important to have dinner as a family at the dinner table each night.
Arlene loved to watch sports. Her favorites to watch play were the Dodgers and the Lakers. If there was a game on, she was either at the game or watching it on tv. Arlene also loved to listen to music and watch her daily “programs.” She enjoyed music from all genres. Her favorite shows to watch were game shows, funny sit coms, crime shows and talent competitions.
Arlene was diagnosed with Gallbladder Cancer in January 2018. She wasn’t going to let that diagnosis define her but instead fought with numerous rounds of chemo. Her nickname was the “Queen of Chemo,” where she was so very loved! She went into remission for almost two years, until her cancer unfortunately returned. Arlene NEVER stopped fighting! She now resides in her new home at the hands of Jesus. When waking from a nap prior to her death she described heaven as “Beautiful like Disneyland”. She is now running around, pain free, in the beautiful yellow fields she envisioned.
Arlene was proceeded in death by her parents, Peter and Lillian Billone. She was also survived by her four siblings, Marie, Jimmy, Brenda and Patty.
