Emily, who liked to be called Jane, was born September 7th, 1933, in Poland Ohio to George Stock and Helen Austin Stock. Her father was a Coal Minor and her mother cared for the family at home until she was called into assist with the Air Force civil defense during WWII. Some of her fondest memories with her dad were going with him on his deliveries and then stopping for peanuts and a pop. Growing up during the war and the great depression she did not have much, but what she did have, she made the most of. As a young woman she met her soon to be husband Dominic Marsilio while he was in the United States Coast Guard. Dominic and Jane married on May 17th, 1953, and they went on to have three children: Anthony, William, and Sally. In the mid 60’s they took a chance and moved from Ohio to California. After a few years in California, Jane started volunteering at Inter Community hospital. She worked her way up to becoming a unit secretary in the ICU, which she held for 40 years, gaining respect from all the doctors and nurses she worked with. Jane loved her work, but her passion was spending time with her family and friends. Nothing made her happier than having all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren together for the holidays. The best part about Jane was that she turned every person she met into family. If you knew her, you would call her Aunt Jane or Grandma Jane instantly. Jane felt fortunate to continue the close relationship with her extended family up until the very end.
Emily Jane was preceded in death by her parents George and Helen Stock, her husband Dominic, two of her sisters, her daughter Sally Schlieker and her grandson Paul Marsilio.
She is survived by her sister Nancy Panter, her two sons and their wives, Anthony (Sue) Marsilio and Bill (Susan) Marsilio, Son-in-law Peter Schlieker, grandchildren Donna (Kyle) Foutz, Laura Marsilio, James (Jolie) Schlieker, Katie (Brandon) Bardonnex, Dave Schlieker, Ashley Marsilio and Amber Marsilio, as well as numerous great grandchildren and family friends.
There is a Jewish expression; May their memory be a blessing. Her memories for all are truly a blessing.
