Born on March 31, 1943, in Monterey, California, his family moved to Arkansas after the War and then moved back to California in 1953, settling in Glendora where he continued to live until his passing. Gary built a life marked by dedication to his work, loving for his family, and a passion for sports and travel. He spent many years working for Alston Manufacturing and Conrac Corp. Before embarking on his own venture, R & G Enterprises which later would be Graf Engineering, a metal fabrication business. His entrepreneurial spirit and expertise in the field left a lasting impact on those who worked with him.
Gary shared nearly 58 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Carol Ann Graf. Together, they built a loving family that included their son Scott Graf and daughter-in-law Melanie Graf. He was a proud grandfather to Grant Graf. Gary is also survived by his sister Deborah Burgan and several nieces and nephews: Chritopher Burgan (Jennifer), Jeremy Burgan (Courtney), Jessica Garcia (Jared), Tracy Moore, and Lisa Carson (David). He was predeceased by his parents Wynona Kathleen Graf and Woodrow Grant Graf, as well as his brother-in-law Jerry Burgan.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Gary played baseball and golf and was an avid fan of the Angels and Lakers, rarely missing a game whether in person or on television. His love for classic cars led him to rebuild old vehicles, with his last project being a 1956 Thunderbird. Beyond sports and cars, he had a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed playing mandolin alongside family members.
Gary also had an adventurous spirit when it came to travel. He explored all but two of the 50- states and visited every continent except Asia and Antartica. Whether traveling with family or friends, he embraced new experiences with enthusiasm and curiosity.
