

Howell Stephen Forgy (better known as Stephen Forgy) passed away on October 22, 2025 at the age of 80. Stephen was born in Oakland, California on September 18, 1945. He spent most of his early years in Hollister, California until his family settled in Glendora, CA.
Stephen was a gifted athlete. While attending Glendora High School, he was the star pitcher on the baseball team and a MVP on the basketball team which earned him a basketball scholarship to Azusa Pacific. While in college, he was drafted, served in Vietnam and was promoted to Sergeant. Stephen earned numerous medals, including the Bronze Metal with Valor. After serving in Vietnam, he returned to Azusa Pacific to play basketball and finished his BA degree. Later in life, Stephen developed a passion for golf, stayed fit working out and enjoyed the ocean, fishing and boating. He was a loyal fan of the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and the Anaheim Angels.
Stephen is survived by his beloved partner, Janice Head, of Fontana, CA, and son Ryan and his wife Jenny and grandchildren, Alexander and Adalyn Forgy, currently residing in Lexington, SC. He was a stepfather to Lanie’s three children: Jason Mangel, Janeen Mangel and Jonathon Armstrong. Stephen is also survived by his sister, Joan Edwards, her husband, Bruce; as well as his brother, Jonathan, and his wife, Weijia. He had four nieces and two nephews.
Stephen was preceded in death by his wife, Lanie Forgy, of Kansas, his father, Howell Forgy, and his mother, Louise Morgan Forgy. He lost his older brother, Michael Forgy, in 2002.
Stephen was dearly loved and he will be dearly missed.
