Mr. Luna (or when I would joke with you Mr. Jesus)

I just heard & this may be late . But I still just wanted to let it out !!! YOU Impacted my life in so many ways than ONE. From being the Best teacher a kid can have, As I look back God Blessed me from the start with you, You molded us with so much love & patience. Taught us how to be respectful & mindful of our surroundings . To always be proud of our parents & are their hard work. You always showed us the big picture.  To never settle for less ! And even as time passed (we grew older) the bond was always there. You would invite us over & got to know our loved ones & always had a helping hand when needed. You will definitely be missed, I wish i could go back & just tell you Thank you one more time, For your true dedication, love, compassion & giving heart. I can say You impacted my life by being just YOU ! Unique & Amazing  (the world needs more Mr. Luna's)  Thank you for always being there & for loving me  throughout my life .  

Dr. Luna was our Principal at Porter Elementary , I was the Kitchen-Operator. He always made everyone feel part of the team. He had team meetings to motivate us not only in our jobs but in our lives as well. Always inspired everyone to do their best. 
May your love surround your family and bring peace to their hearts..

I knew Mr. Luna in his capacity as an assistant superintendent of curriculum at Keppel Union School District.  When I attended grade level meetings he was good about connecting the meeting content to prior learning.  He answered all questions and shared research about new teaching practices.  Mr. Luna was especially kind  on a personal level.   I always received an answer and a few Kudos for my ideas and concerns.  He showed respect for teachers and earned it in return.  He is missed at Keppel.

Dr.  Jesus Luna was a pure joy in my life! I met him three short years ago while working together at Keppel Union School District.  When we met I felt as if I had known him my whole life - he felt like family from day one!

My favorite memory was when I thought I had lost my car keys. Everyone helped me search for them to no avail.  As a new teacher to the district I did not know anyone there. He kindly said he would drive me home and even when I mentioned it was 50 miles to Hesperia - he didn't even blink. I was beside myself!  Few people are as generous and kind. 

The true blessing was that we got to talk for 70 minutes and it was non-stop! We shared stories of being career educators and it was beautiful to immediately recognize his genuine care and love of students - especially second language learners.  

Crazily, upon leaving his car the keys fell from the bag we had so thoroughly searched! I immediately recognized it was God's divine grace that we spent that time getting to know each other.  The situation became an on-going joke whenever we saw one another! The story of the lost keys! LOL! 

From that day on we had a brilliant bond filled with mischievous laughter every time we saw each other at a staff meeting or workshop! The laughter and joy of getting to know him lasted until I learned of his last breath. 

His faith, love of God, and especially of his mom and family was expressed in everything he did. It was a mutual gift we both shared and freely spoke of every time we met. He saw the hand of God in every part of his life and the light of Christ shone from him. Peace to all who were blessed to know him and peace to those who missed the chance to truly know him in his brief time here.

For all my life Dr. Jesus Luna will remain a favorite person on this planet! Love you, Jesus - you rock!

 Today I had you on my mind almost all day. Reminiscing about all the laughs in High School but more so at Citrus. Boy, did we have fun. 

Deciding to go to Citrus has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life. You were the main reason I did so. 

You were there for support when I hit rock bottom. Never judging, always being supportive. You believed in me when I still didn't.  Forever I'll be grateful.

So much so that many years later, when we had that personal and private conversation. I showed you how much I appreciated you and how much respect I had for you. I'm so happy I was able to convey that to you. 

I have so many memories of you dating back to our High School years, but I don't have to go that far back. 

The last time we spoke, I was stuck in traffic. Over 8 hours coming back from Vegas. I called to see if you knew of any backroads I could take. You offered your home for the night.

The last time we communicated, we were laughing and wishing each other well. 

A friend from the first time we met. A friendship I'll cherish forever. I friend I hope to see and laugh with again. 

Rest easy my friend. 

I worked with him at Gird Elementary. His dedication to the students was always evident. He turned our school around and made everyone feel like they could succeed. I loved his spirit, sense of humor, and leadership. He truly will be missed. May God bless the family.

I remember Jesus first as a student  in my literature class. Even though it was probably decades ago, I still remember how he participated and his good humor. Recently I saw him at graduation and we got to have a great, long  conversation between ceremonies. It was great to hear of his successful teaching career in language and that he was a colleague at ULV. Im glad we had the opportunity to reconnect then. I’m so sorry we’ve lost him. My condolences to his family 

Dear Chuy,

My beloved brother, we shared so many things together and created so many memories throughout our lives that I will cherish each and everyone of them.  You were always a source of knowledge, comfort, admiration and my confidant. You were there for my best times and my difficult times. No matter how busy you were, you always had time to talk, to listen and support me and encourage me. You have no idea on how much I admire you and respect you for all that you accomplished, I will  always be very proud of all your accomplishments.
Our bond was very special, even though you were my little brother we still had so much in common that our wavelengths were in sync in some many occasions.  We did many things together without the need to speak or plan them,  and we knew exactly what each other had to do. 
I remember the time we were walking next to each other going up stairs at Citrus College, we were heading to the locker room; we weren't talking or looking at each other, we were just walking up the stairs and looking down when  suddenly , we both out of nowhere stopped on the same step, stood up  and then we switch foots  to continue going upstairs. This happened so fast that we just looked at each other and laughed about what had just happened. 
Having you as my running teammate in high school was one of the best things we did together, me a senior and you a freshman. 
Thank you for all the great memories and words of encouragement. 
You will always be a part of me.
