On Leonarda last Days she dedicated her daughters to Lauro and Guadalupe Lucero to add to her already Full House.
(This is Sample of the Big Heart our Grandmother Guadalupe had in and around their neighborhood.)
My Mother told me she did not want to go live across the street she wanted to stay in her home this is the (True sign of the Taurus - Strong and Steadfast.)
Gramma Guadalupe said OK and would keep an eye out for them she could see them from her kitchen window.
This is an Example of the “Kind Hearts” we come from Guadalupe helped any one she could that needed her help.
She did Mass and had Grandpa (Lauro) build her a Chapel on the Property because the local Church was getting to be too far. She was a devote Practicing Catholic.
She did Funerals and Rosaries there at her own Chapel.
My Dad would tell me that he would see her go up and down the streets sweeping people’s yards for whatever bit of food they could give her even just a bowl of beans was welcomed.
At the Time, There was a Merchant named “El Tenni” That roamed around vicinity.
They Called him “El Tenni” because he wore Tennis shoes all the time he would bring a box of trinkets and lace to Leonarda’s house so my mom could sell these trinkets around town to make money.
“El Tenni” would go to El Paso pick up the supplies that would sometimes take him couple months to get back then would come back to Villa Ahumada he was away at the time of Leonarda’s passing.
Mom would tell me “El Tenni” would give her the creeps and never wanted to accept the box she would hide and let Leonarda receive the merchandise and do the transactions.
After Leonarda’s Passing “El Tenni” shows up finds out about Leonarda’s passing and starts claiming the girls are his?
Luckily Guadalupe saw he was there at moms house she took a frying pan over there and chased him down the street with it.
Was then and only then that Mom told me she had to give in and go live at Gramma Guadalupe’s house where eventually they Got together with my Dad (Lauro Lucero Jr.) and had their First Son David Lucero soon after had 4 more brothers Ruben, Edmundo, Saul, Louie
This is what I remember from my Beautiful Mother Manuela Lucero who Finally Is now with her MOM and DAD and the rest of the Family members that have passed and I know are waiting for her with open arms receiving “Gods Glory” .
Love you Mom We will all be there SOON Love YOU So much……From Dave Lucero and all the Family may you
“Rest in Peace”
